What’s It Called? Sold At Chinese Herb Stores…?

In Cantonese, it’s pronounced “yiu qu”. It’s yellow, comes in pack of small chunks. Has a shape like this but a bit thicker:http://www.dreamstime.com/chopped-carrot…
My mom uses it in congee or soups. I need the English term for it!!
