Why does my family (ASIAN) have naturally CURLY hair?
Yes. My family is completely 100% Chinese (according to my grandfather) but my grandmother, mother, brother, and I all have wavy to curly hair. (My mom has the curliest hair–it’s full on little ringlets).
I was wondering how this happened!
like is this even POSSIBLE being 100% asian or does this mean there’s some unaccounted un-asian blood in our ancestry?
Thanks!

I’ve seen unmixed Japanese people with quasi-afros. It can, and does happen.
People need to stop defining themselves in racial boxes. It just causes confusion. Human variation is too complex and complicated to be boiled down into arbitrary racial categories.
I’m mixed east asian. Chinese blood and Korean blood. I have naturally straight dark black brown hair. My mom’s sister who’s Chinese was born with natural curly black hair. It looks wavy and my baby cousin inherited her genes and now she has wavy hair at 1 yrs old. Don’t worry. It still looks beautiful.
I think there’s some unaccounted non Asian blood in your family. I had a Korean friend who had naturally curly hair (think Israeli kind of curly). Still to this day I can’t figure out what she’s mixed with. She looks 1000000000% Korean though. I guess it’s the recessive genes finally showing up.
ASians can have curly hair. Who knows, you might be mixed to. How is this a big deal?
…Both me and my sister are part black and my sister has light hair.
Yeah that happens. There are mutations that always occurs. I’ve seen a full Korean with black people looking hair.

there is some black in there…just saying
that’s pretty wierd.
edit: black people can have light brown hair.
What? Asians can have curly hair too, I don’t understand why this is weird to you?
