Hello, so I have been diagnosed with Myofascial pain syndrome and am wondering what treatments you have tried and how helpful the treatments were for your pain?
Also, what medicines have you found helpful for your pain?
And what, if any, alternative treatments have you tried for your myofasical pain?
And if you could please tell me some of your triggers, whether it is a food trigger, or an activity that causes your pain to be worse?
Thank you!!
BTW, if you have any websites that help explain Myofascial pain syndrome I would appreciate if you could leave me the link and give me any other information that you think may be helpful.

Hello. This is exceptionally long, but please take the time to read the entire thing.
I’m 13 years old, and my dad has a gambling problem. I use to think he just enjoyed it too much, but I’ve done some research on gambling addiction, treatment, etc, and he has a serious problem. He’s been gambling for more than 5 years, possibly more than a decade.
My step-mom is not supportive whatsoever in helping him recover. I don’t think she understands that he has an addiction problem in his brain, and that no matter how many times she yells and slaps/hits him he wont stop. I’ve never had a good relationship with her either, she was always strict and much more expectant of me than I guess I would have preferred. I don’t ever go to her with my problems or concerns, and there was only one time in my life that she actually cheered me up when I upset.
My dad left yesterday night for the casino right when we were done running some errands at the store. He’s not coming back tonight, but instead, heading to the casino. There was a time (probably only a month ago) where he gambled away our monthly mortgage, utility expenses. My mom (just for clarification I will be referring to my step-mom as my mom) had to pull out the money she saved each month to pay it off.
She has threatened him over and over again and again to stop. It never works. If we call him when he doesn’t come home, he doesn’t respond or makes up some excuse why he’s gone.
I felt awful when I’d gotten to the point where I knew I couldn’t trust him anymore, and then I called him when he left the house right after he got home and checked on my little brothers, wondering where he was. I automatically echoed the practiced “you’re lying” when he said he wasn’t at the casino, but turns out he really wasn’t. Dx
Because of my mother’s influence and how strict she was with things and my father’s recurring money burning, I’ve never asked for much. It’ll be a long time before I ask for a cellphone (never did, perhaps never will), makeup, I rarely go shopping (well, not as often as I’d like), and it’s been awhile since I’ve asked for a birthday or christmas gift (quite honestly, I’ve only asked for one when I was younger, noting that that was the tradition).
So……that’s my life. Please do not think I’m complaining, it could be much worse, and everyone has their own problems. I am simply stating the situation I’m in =)
Back to the addiction issue. I want to help my dad recover. Frankly, he has to or worse will happen. I don’t know how my mother has stuck to him all these years, I don’t know what her breaking point is, but once she reaches it, it’s gonna suck. I have 3 step-siblings, that adore me a little more then needed. (I’m the oldest) I know the oldest younger brother would hate to split, my mom would only take my little sister, and my dad himself cannot support 3 kids.
I know time is what is needed, but I do not think my mother would be able to coop that. She is horridly upset of all the money lost. We don’t have a great relationship, she wont support me (doubting me is more like it), and there’s also a language barrier (she’s first gen chinese, moved to america after she and my dad married, I speak more english and have trouble communicating thoughts to my parents), and she’s the one who yells at my dad every single time he goes to the casino (which on the website it say NOT to do…).
My goal is to get him pretty much clean of the addiction before I go to college, so I know I’ll have left my siblings to a fine life where there’s no panicked stress because of all the yelling and obnoxiously loud fighting (even when doors are air-tight shut) occurring right across the hallway.
What worries me is that just me alone might not be able to do it. If he ever goes to therapy or something along those lines, it would probably cost money and that’s something we really can’t afford right now. I don’t think I’m a huge impact on his life either…he has never expressed his love for me (at times like this I don’t think love would be the word for it). ‘Course mom’s no help, so……how the hell am I suppose to do it? (Ignore my language if you wish, I felt like injecting it).

SKorea Finds Smuggled Capsules Contain Human Flesh
By HYUNG-JIN KIM Associated Press
SEOUL, South Korea May 8, 2012 (AP)
South Korea has seized thousands of smuggled drug capsules filled with powdered flesh from dead babies, which some people believe can cure disease, officials said Monday.
The capsules were made in northeastern China from babies whose bodies were chopped into small pieces and dried on stoves before being turned into powder, the Korea Customs Service said.
Customs officials refused to say where the dead babies came from or who made the capsules, citing possible diplomatic friction with Beijing. Chinese officials ordered an investigation into the production of drugs made from dead fetuses or newborns last year.
The customs office has discovered 35 smuggling attempts since August of about 17,450 capsules disguised as stamina boosters, and some people believe them to be a panacea for disease, the customs service said in a statement. The capsules of human flesh, however, contained bacteria and other harmful ingredients.
The smugglers told customs officials they believed the capsules were ordinary stamina boosters and did not know the ingredients or manufacturing process.
Ethnic Koreans from northeastern China who now live in South Korea were intending to use the capsules themselves or share them with other Korean-Chinese, a customs official said. They were carried in luggage or sent by international mail.
The capsules were all confiscated but no one has been punished because the amount was deemed small and they weren’t intended for sale, said the customs official, who requested anonymity, citing department rules.
China’s State Food and Drug Administration and its Health Ministry did not immediately respond to questions faxed to them Monday. Chinese media identify northeastern China as the source of such products, especially Jilin province which abuts North Korea.
The Jilin food and drug safety agency is responsible for investigating the trade of such remains there. Calls to the agency and to the information office of Jilin’s Communist Party were not answered Monday.
The South Korean customs agency began investigating after receiving a tip a year ago. No sicknesses have been reported from ingesting the capsules.
