Do they sell fruits and vegetables? Or is it all fast food type things like pizza and chinese food? I’m a vegetarian and very health concious. All I eat is fruits, veggies, whole grains, eggs and yogurt. Im going to university next year and was wondering what I could do if they don’t offer things for vegetarians? I have to stay on campus dorms for the first year, so would I be allowed to bring in a mini fridge and buy my own fruits and vegetables for breakfast and lunch, and just eat dinner in the cafeteria?

Every school will have fruits and vegetables and other healthy options. Some schools will have more variety (and better-tasting variety) than others, but a salad bar and things like cereal and fruit will be everywhere. Schools are generally moving toward more healthy choices anyway, so at some schools (usually the smaller elite private schools) you’ll actually be able to eat very well in the cafeteria.
Most dorms allow mini fridges. You can certainly eat in the dorm if you choose, though you’ll lose out on some of the social experiences that come with cafeterias, and if you have a meal plan you’ll also waste a lot of money.
It varies from school to school. Most offer some vegetarian options, how good they are is what you need to find out. It would be a good question for tour guides.
Many more do now than previously. Arrange with the admissions office to eat in the dining hall when you visit the campus.
