I am Black, American Indian, White, and i have a little bit of Spanish mixed around. Which would make me indiwackish? (: No, im not one of those people claiming to have indian in me, just so i can have some type of “cool heritage” or anything.
On my moms side her father is half black and half american indian. My grandmother’s father was mixed with black and white. And my grandmother’s mom is a full blooded cherokee indian. (My great grandmother is still living. She has high/pronounced cheek bones, light tan or yellow-ish skin tone, dark chinese looking eyes, and ive seen pictures of her as a girl and she had long, black, hair came past her back.) [Now that she's older its grey and only comes past her shoulders].
On my dads side his father is black with some Spanish down the line somewhere around my great great great grandfather (which i dont think is countable). And my grandmother is 1/4 american indian (not sure what tribe) and black.
Even though in the governments eyes im black… In actuality im mixed because im ALMOST as much American Indian as i am black. Right?

It doesn’t really matter…if you look Black you will be treated accordingly, if you look ambiguous then same goes there…
you non-blackness is a quarter at the most.
so I guess you can call yourself mixed race if Beyonce can.
Edit: See, most only base being mixed off of appearance and not racial breakdown.
Edit: IMO, your hair is the only physical trait that shows your mixed background.
How you identify is up to you.
Government is a separate thang.
Yes you definitely sound mixed to me
Sounds Possible

Okay…that is her phenotype…but, If she is not ENROLLED or from a tribal community, your claim of fullblood Cherokee status for great-gramma is probably like all the rest…a Cherokee Blood Myth. There are only two communities that can produce full bloods…Oklahoma and Qualla Res. Either she or HER PARENTS were from these communities. Nowhere else…no exceptions.
To BE Cherokee is to be a tribal member. This means political affiliation…i.e. enrollment. There are practically NO fullbloods out there living today that are not enrolled. She would be one of a VERY small handful anyway.
