Seriously, would they have to abandon their socialist programs and start spending money on defense instead? How would they protect themselves against the Soviet threat or the Chinese threat or the North Korean threat or the Iranian threat or the Iraqi threat?
It must be nice having another country foot the bill for your defense, so that you can spend all the money on socialized medicine and socialized universities? It would also be nice if you remembered to thank us once in a while!

I had a fever in school since Thursday till now. But since tomorrow is Chinese new year I have to go visiting and I’m afraid I might pass my illness to my relatives… I have taken medicine but the fever is on off. Please help me!

astrologers, or astronomers ? when you look at the stars and study them, and use them to make predictions, how far ahead can you read “astrology weather?” can you predict what is going to happen in lets say- the next 5-10 years ? 20-50 years ? the movements in the sky “sound” predictable right?
but i don’t think they are-are they? well i mean, it takes 12 months to make a year 12 hours to make a day etc. etc. those are things that are predictable. ok anyways, about chinese astrology-why is chinese new year in february? that doesn’t make any sense to me,but i want it to. are chinese years different than ours ? what year are they on ? wouldn’t different …. years cause massive misunderstanding like right now? also, time has been dealt with in the past by the “catholic church? ” there used to be …13 months? 14 months ? and the days are different too ? there used to be 8 days? …..sigh, i can’t think right now – all i can remember is like SUNday and MOONday… anyways , tell me what you know about the original calendar combined or compared to the current one, and chinese years compared to our years and Also compared to the original calendar. hmmmmm well, the sky does look different in different countries right? i mean, in many countries in the east you can see the stars wayyyyyyyyyyyy better than over here right ? i guess that’s why there were more studies on it ? what do you think? i’ve got a random question based on religion- it seems that the catholics had great power – but in the time of Jesus , it was the romans that had the power. ok. then we have astrology. it is known today that catholics are against astrology- the romans were against Jesus correct? although, the greeks were the ones that created the many parts of astrology we know today? doesn’t that seem kind’ve ironic ? if you really really think about it. how many of you have studied greek mythology ? it is somewhat simliar to astrology although they are known as myths- but they are very simliar to astrology ! ? relating to , the weather changes , medicine , sex. i’m jumping around subjects i’m sorry. ok back to calenders- when you’ve studied the bible for many years , there are sayings that some people lived to 1,000 years or 300 years etc. although the calendar was different back then … a year was 10 months ? but a month was like 20 days ? i want to clear this up. astronomy has many stories that are pretty interesting , know any? have you heard the new theory that the egyptians were in fact -around 35,000B.C.? do you have any idea how that made me feel hearing that ? 35,000 years ? what does that make you feel or think?

I haven’t had a period in two years because of anorexia, I’ve been a healthy weight since October though and still nothing. I don’t believe in homeopathy btw.

I’ll try to keep this question shorter. My sister is recovering from heroine addiction (Quite seccessifully) and thinks acupuncture helps her on the days she feels particularly sick. I have tracked the frequency and duration of these bouts of illness for medical reasons. Acupuncture has had no clear effect.
She chewed me out when I told her Calms Forte had no active ingredient, so the illusion of help is important to her. Should I tell her acupuncture is not really helping or let her keep thinking she is doing something good for herself?

I’m a sophomore and currently taking 2 AP classes. However, I’m not doing very well. It’s finals week (we have semesters) and am already guaranteed at least 2 B s and most of my As are borderline. I’m very worried about my GPA right now, because this is one of the years that really count, especially UCs. One of my dream schools is UCSD, but I don’t know if I will be accepted at this rate. Some advice is greatly appreciated. I will post my grades so far
I just took my calculus AB final and I don’t think I did pretty well (I needed a C- on the final to keep my B-), so I might get a C ;_;. I’m taking my chemistry final tomorrow, but even if I get a perfect score, my grade will still be a B (Honors Chemistry is extremely hard in our school; the two teachers who teach the subject have a bad reputation among the students).

I have a question for your hunters:
Why do you go out and actively hunt (shoot and kill) deer and geese and other such animals?
Nature is taking revenge on people.

I’m not going to get very detailed, but basically everything in nature can feel, most people/modern science are not able to understand it, because they are not familiar with other dimensions.

I’m an animal lover, yes. But I completely accept hunting animals for survival (i.e you live in the woods). But I’m just having a hard time understanding city dwellers going on hunts for fun.

When people start doing it for ANY other reason it’s cruelty. Whether they it’s fun, it earns money, it’s helping the animal (uhhh… right.), it’s a tradition, ANYTHING, it’s not humane.
Personally I think it is wrong to do so for a sport/enjoyment. All that it takes is imagining myself as the deer and getting shot in the chest out of nowhere and slowly bleeding to death for 5-10 min

All rhino species are in trouble from poaching more than any other factor.The black rhino is in the most trouble,with wild numbers in the low hundreds.Rhino poachers kill them for the horn,which supposedly has medicinal properties.This has proven to be false,and rhinos continue to be poached,despite protective measures.
